Interactive Learning:

• Constellation Exploration: Children will embark on a cosmic journey, learning about the Jewel Box constellation using indoor telescopes. They will explore how telescopes collect and magnify light, allowing us to observe distant stars and nebulae. This activity introduces them to the concept of light years and the vast distances between celestial objects.

  
  

• Telescope Mechanics: Dive into the fascinating world of telescopes and discover how these incredible tools enable us to explore the night sky. Students will learn about the optics behind telescopes, such as lenses and mirrors, and how they work together to bring distant objects into clearer view. Understanding these mechanisms provides insight into how astronomers study the universe.

Hands-On Creation:

• Make Your Own Kaleidoscope: Young astronomers will craft their own kaleidoscopes, learning about optics and light in a fun, hands-on way. They will understand how light reflection and refraction through multiple mirrors create intricate, shifting patterns, demonstrating basic principles of geometry and light behaviour.

Our Treasure in the Sky Workshop is meticulously designed to align with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), My Time, Our Place (MTOP), and the Australian Curriculum.
