Overview:

This hands-on program immerses children in the fascinating world of alternative energies, focusing on stored potential energy and kinetic energy. Through engaging activities, students will explore how energy is stored, transferred, and utilised in everyday objects.

Aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), Australian Curriculum, and My Time Our Place (MTOP) standards, this workshop offers a rich learning experience.

Hands On Experience:

Children will participate in exciting experiments, including:

• Rubber band wind-up cars: Explore the mechanics of stored energy and motion.

• Spinning top races: Discover the principles of rotational energy.

• Push-powered crazy cars: Learn about the conversion of force into movement.

• Hydraulic toys: Understand the power of fluid mechanics.

• Rube Goldberg Machine: Experience the chain reaction of energy transfers in a creative way.

Engaging Activities:

To top it all off, each student will create and take home their very own popping animal. Using the force of air pressure, children will squeeze a bottle to launch their animal into the air, experiencing the thrill of kinetic energy in action.

This workshop not only inspires curiosity but also provides a foundation for understanding the essential principles of energy, making it an unforgettable learning adventure for young engineers.
